Video game developer Game Freak and publisher Nintendo are saying that they have no plans to deliver regular updates for their coming Pokemon X & Y on the 3DS because they feel that the title will be well balanced on launch.

Junichi Masuda, the game director working on the new Pokemon experience, tells Digital Spy that, “We don't really plan to release any kind of updates to change the balance.”

He adds, “Of course, we think we have it perfect this time, but thought that before and depending on certain move combinations.”

Masuda explains that his team has run a number of tests to determine the best possible balance for the title.

Presumably, both companies are ready to deliver updates if players discover a bug or game breaking problem.

Pokemon X & Y will be out on the Nintendo handheld on October 12. The game introduces new starting creatures and more evolution.
