The Pokemon Company and Nintendo announce that they are working on launching seven new major competitions for Pokemon X & Y in 2014, offering fans of the franchise a lot of opportunities to prove their abilities against other human opponents.

The newly announced tournaments are:

- June 6 – 8: Think Fast Competition – Single Battle - Late June: 2014 International Challenge June. - July: Eevee Friendly Match - July: All Star Battle - August: Think Fast Competition Double Battle - Autumn: Fairy-type Cup - Autumn: Halloween Party

More details about the events that have official dates are offered on the official Pokemon site.

The companies explain that, “The worldwide tournament series provides numerous opportunities for new and experienced Pokémon competitors to battle others online. Some events even reward top players with Championship Points, which count toward invitations to the 2014 Pokémon World Championships taking place August 16–17 in Washington, DC.”

The early June Think Fast competition is designed to test the tactical skill of players and their ability to react quickly to changing situations, which means that each round is limited to one 10-minute-long single battle and only 30 seconds are given to see the opponents Pokemon and 15 to choose the move.

The July Eevee event will only allow gamers who use the characters and its various forms to take part.

More details about the rest of the Pokemon X & Y competitions for 2014 will be offered at a later date.
