Yes, you read that right. A new Pokemon game for iPad is in the works and will soon be released on the iOS platform. The game is already playable and looks pretty much like The Pokemon Trading Card Game Online, which is now available on Windows and Mac.

According to Polygon, the game has already been confirmed by an official from The Pokemon Company who, sadly, could not offer any details on the new title’s release date. Apparently, the person in question only stated that the game was real and that it would eventually be released on iPad.

The first screenshot showing the game in action has been provided by Josh Wittenkeller, a long-time player and fan of the game.

Word is that developers have already shown the iPad game to some of the players who attended The Pokemon World Championship over the weekend, so we expect more details on the game to emerge online sooner rather than later.

For the time being, it’s unclear how much the online version of the game will be included in the iPad version, but what’s important for Pokemon fans is that the title is real and that they will be offered the chance to play their favorite game while on the move.
