The Pokemon Company International and Nintendo have announced that you'll be able to fly freely through the skies of Hoenn in the upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

Players will be able to collect the Legendary Pokemon Latios in Pokemon Omega Ruby, and Latias in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, two high-flying Dragon and Psychic types of critters.

Trainers can simply hop on the back of their Pokemon, once they find their Mega Evolutions, of course, and navigate the game world through the air, with the option to perform various mid-air tricks, such as hairpin turns.

The new method of travel is called Soaring and gives players the opportunity to access Mirage spots, exclusive areas where they will be able to find rare Pokemon and valuable items.

Nintendo has revealed that players who own the games will be able to get their hands on the Eon Ticket later this year, enabling them to visit Hoenn's Southern Island, where they will be able to capture Latias and Latios.

This is the only way through which the two Legendary Pokemon can be acquired, as they cannot be caught during normal play. The company will reveal more information regarding the specifics of this later on.

New Mega Evolutions and features

The upcoming remakes of the 1991 classic Game Boy Advance titles will deliver a host of new content, in addition to the original experience. Among the new things that players will get to encounter will be a series of Mega Evolutions, such as Mega Pidgeot and Mega Beedrill, which will be making their debut in the upcoming games.

Mega Pidgeot has increased Special Attacks and benefits from a naturally high Speed. It can learn the Flying type move Hurricane, which coupled with its No Guard Ability, allowing all its moves to land regardless of accuracy, enables him to sow confusion into the enemy ranks.

The poisonous stingers on Beedrill's tail and arms grow upon achieving Mega Evolution, and its Attack receives a hefty boost. The Bug type move Fell Stinger raises Beedrill's Attack further whenever it causes an opponent to faint, and its Adaptability Ability raises the power of its moves to 200 percent, up from the standard 150 percent, making him a formidable opponent.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are set for release on November 21 in Japan, Australasia and North America, followed by Europe on November 28. The games will be available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS handheld device.
