Pokémon Emerald, released in Japan as Pocket Monsters Emerald, is a title in the Pokémon series of video games. The game is an enhanced remake of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, adding to the third generation of Pokémon games. Like the games it was based on, the player controls a Pokémon trainer, whose general goal is to traverse around the Hoenn region and capture Pokémon. Like Ruby and Sapphire, the game features the third generation Pokémon, but also adds some second generation Pokémon that were once limited to Pokémon Colosseum.
The National Pokédex is also available without trading. The game follows the same storyline as Ruby and Sapphire, but adds new elements such as the Battle Frontier, where the player can enter a variety of areas with different Pokémon competitions. The elements have been considered by many to be major additions and the popularity of the Pokémon franchise had seen the game meet commercial success. Emerald was 2005's second best-selling game in the United States.
Easter Eggs
Getting Latias Or Latios After you defeat the Elite Four, go to your house and watch the television downstairs. After you watch it, your mom will ask you what color the Pokemon is. If you say Red, you will find Latias. If you say Blue, it will be Latios.
Getting the other Lati To get the other Lati (Latios or Latias), Mix Records with a Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire game that used the Eon Ticket. You can then get to a hidden island via the SS Tidal where you can find the Lati you didn't choose.
Shiny pokemon Every time you encounter a pokemon you have a 1/8192 chance of the pokemon being a different color, this is called a shiny pokemon.
Secrets
Battle Steven, the former champion. After beating the Elite Four, a new part of Meteor Falls opens up. It is in the northwestern corner where you found Iron Tail. A new cave was made and you'll find Steven in it. His Pokemon are in the high 70's.
Compound Eyes Second effect If you have a Pokemon with Compound eyes 1st in your Party it will draw Wild Pokemon that has held Items more often.
Cut's Out of Battle effect Have a Pokemon use CUT to remove grass where wild Pokemon live. It will remove the chance of encountering wild Pokemon. The grass will
regrow once you leave the area or enter a building.
Cute Charm's Second Effect If you have a Pokemon with Cute Charm 1st in your Party it will more likely draw Wild Pokemon with the opposite gender of the Pokemon with Cute Charm.
Faster hatching eggs Simply put a pokemon with the ability Flame Body or Magma Armor on your team to cut the amount of steps needed to hatch an egg in half.
Get the Mental Herb In one of the treehouses in Fortree City there is a man with a Wingull. Talk to the Wingull and it will fly off out of the treehouse. When you get to Mossdeep City, you will see a person with a Wingull. Talk to it and it will fly off as well. Then go back to Fortree City and into the treehouse where you talked to the first Wingull. Talk to the man next to the Wingull and he will give you the Mental Herb, an item which is a hold item that prevents attraction on the Pokemon that is holding it.
Hustle's Second Effect If you have a Pokemon with Hustle 1st in your Party it will draw Wild Pokemon that has a Higher Level than the Pokemon that has Hustle.
Inherit Pokemon Natures through breeding. To do this you need an Everstone. To get one, search in Granite Cave for a lone rock on top of a plateau. Once you get an Everstone, let a Ditto or a female Pokemon that you are breeding hold on to it. Once you receive and hatch the eggs, the offspring will have a 50% chance of inheriting the Nature from the Pokemon holding the Everstone.
Intimidate and Keen Eye's second ability If you put a Pokemon that was intimidated or Keen Eye 1st in your party the chances of wild Pokemon encounter is reduced by 10%.
Lightningrod's second ability If you have a pokemon with lightning rod as an ability, you will get calls from registered trainers more often.
Magnet Pull's secondary effect If you have a pokemon with the Magnet Pull ability in front of your party, it increases the chances of finding wild steel-type Pokemon. This is very useful for finding rare steel types, such as Mawile.
Mirage Island Mirage Island is an invisible Island located on Route 130. Most of the time it will be invisible but on rare cases, the island will be visible. To find out if the island is there or not, go to Pacifidlog Town and talk to the old man in the bottom right house looking out the window. He will tell you whether the island is there or not. The cause is unknown so a bit of luck is needed to find it. On the island you will find the rare Leichi Berry that powers up your Pokemon's attack in battle when it gets weak. In the grass, you will only find Wild Wynauts.
Mystery Gift To unlock mystery gift, go to a pokemon mart and press A on the piece of paper on the counter. Then insert the words LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL. Press select to easily find the words. After this the store lady will talk to you and tell you that mystery gift is now unlocked.
Raising weak pokemon easier Just put the weak pokemon in the first slot. When a battle starts, just switch out that pokemon right away. After the battle the pokemon will receive half of the exp. points.
Shedinja To get Shedinja, you must first catch a Nincada and have an empty space in your party. People say you need a Pokeball for it, but you do NOT. Shedinja copies the ball the Nincada was caught in. Anyways, with one empty space in your party, level up Nincada to level 20. It will evolve into Ninjask. When you check your party, you will see Shedinja sitting in the final slot, along with the Ninjask and 4 other Pokemon.
Static's secondary effect If you have a pokemon with the Static ability in the front of your party, it increases the chance of finding a wild electric type pokemon. This is EXTREMELY useful for finding rare electric types, like Pikachu in the Safari Zone.
Suction cups/Sticky hold's second ability If a pokemon in your party has suction cups/sticky hold as an ability, then you will have an easier time fishing for wild pokemon.
Swarm's second ability The Pokemon ability Swarm has 2 effects. It raises Bug-type attacks by 150% when the user is weak, and, new to Emerald, it makes pokemon cry in the background more often. For example, in caves outside of battle, you will hear a Pokemon screech more often.
Synchronize's second ability If you have a pokemon with synchronize as an ability, you will encounter more pokemon with the same nature as the pokemon with synchronize. Note that the pokemon with this ability must be in the front of your party.
Here's how you can clone your pokemon, a very cool glitch:
In emerald there is a psy trainer secretly hidden. To find her.go to Mauville.Next go to cycliing road.Once u get threw and get out, dont go onto the cycling road, just go right then u will battle this trainer. This is no cheat.
P.S She is not strong.

In the game Pkokemon Emerald it's possible to catch Raquaza(may not be the right spelling) without the masterball, but you have to haveyour pokemon lv. 50-60 and also bring a lot of ultra balls(around 60 or so) and save before you battle him.

Raquaza cant breed
Comment #6.4 by: Panda Niccals on 11 Jan 2011, 02:52 GMT
That's idiotic. Rayquaza is a legendary and is impossible to breed. and as for the charizard, you would need some serious glitching to breed those two AND to get a shiny egg, and it would therefore most likely destroy your game
Comment #6.5 by: jopel on 27 Jan 2011, 07:58 GMT
it is a fake

I don't believe you can catch jirachi in mossdeep. All of you would have heard this theory to catch Deoxys: have a Latios/Latias at lv 67 and holding a sitrus berry in your party and then go talk to the scientist in the space center and have him say "that was successful launch no 67(Latios/Latias lv).If you hurry you can be on the next flight to the moon" or something like that. You would go to the moon and catch him.I tried this and it never worked.I think some people said the same theory for jirachi and i don't think that will work.
Comment #9.1 by: emeraldgal199 on 10 Apr 2011, 21:59 GMT
In 6 random spots on route 119.(in the water) the spots change when you change the trendy phrase in dewford town. I know this works cuz im reading from the pokedex collector's edition for r/s/fr/lg
Comment #9.2 by: wesley on 08 May 2011, 12:33 GMT
hey Seth thanks for the jiruch cheat it worked
Comment #9.3 by: kiwi on 12 Oct 2011, 02:07 GMT
route 119 i think you have to say mudkip ball to the trend guy in dewford first
this isnt a glitch but on route 124 (pkmn R/S) a red head girl will spin clock wise, battle her, win,be on her right, go down and you'll see a light dive area. enter it an youll be able to fint Pkmn and 1-2 items
You cannot get them through the game. You have to have an action replay or gameshark. I reccomend a gameshark because it already has the code on it for you.
Comment #12 by: twizzzler on 09 Nov 2008, 20:36 UTC
this awesome but you are missing a lot of other details about the game there are a lot of other sites that tell you like how to clone and the affects and how to get the legends like regis and rayquaza, kyogre, and groudon (pardin da spellin) looooovvvveeee twizzzler

Its easy! put the pokemon that u want in daycare then go to route 101 and go to the slope at the top then tape the D pad down and put a small but medeium weight thing on it, put it on the charger and leave it on overnight :) hope it helps!
To get Feebas, go to the river near Fortree city. Use your super rod once on every tile starting from the top and moving down. You'll eventually catch a Feebas. Hope this helps!

Pokemon Emerald is, an awesome game...i caught rayquaza using a pokeball, i used my Swampert and got Rayquaza down to 1 health and then i put it to sleep with my Gengar, and useed scary face until i could catch it with my only pokeball...
Comment #24.1 by: A Girl on 07 Dec 2010, 00:28 GMT

to get feebas you now the bottom lake the one with the w go th the part where the fisher man is surf up and turn around and yous the good rod good luck ;D
this is a fun glitch you need surf and have to of been to pacciflodge town (it helps if youve got regis cause. you will know the water) go the same way and on a small island of water the botom is just like the tide try it its fun and to get the regis go to the bootom of the current and keep going (bit of luck) with a waliord in fornt of party or back and a relicanth (only found under water rare) in front or back and dive and the roocks open

i'm not so totally sure but try dis 1 another cheat for duplicating items more than you expect
full/add pokemon you want to the box u like, using move items, give each of the pokemon wid item.after give items, save the game, and using again the move items on the lanettes pc, get ur items then talk to the to girl that requires link cable, then if the save file box apearred, then don't save.then restart your game by using a+b+L+R then access then viola!,the items duplicated but the pokemons did not duplicate..
i hope this will work!
Comment #27.1 by: emeralplayer16 on 05 Aug 2011, 02:17 GMT
it does its really easy and you could duplicate as many as you want and with Pokemon holding it only 5 at at time and your PC will eventually get full (annoying)
Comment #27.2 by: wanderer on 02 Dec 2011, 07:59 GMT
so are u saying that any item can be duplicated??
does that include the master ball?? hope that would work :))
the only real glitch is the cloning thing, and a lot of people already know that. O, and the clone thing also clones iteams, so if you havent already, dont catch raquaza in a master ball, so youll have more than 1
Comment #28.1 by: pikapazuka on 27 Sep 2010, 07:37 GMT
i didnt catch any legendary pokemon until after i beat the elite four and i had a strong sceptile that had moves that dominated the whole league then i cloned master ball and caught all legendaries i could
Comment #28.2 by: Pokeman on 19 Oct 2012, 02:48 GMT
How to clone items way faster ( first clone normal way to get a ton of that item)
1 give item you want to every pokemon
2 save game
3 take item from every pokemon
4 go to last lady at battle tower in battle frontier
5 after the long pause cut the power
6 go back to pc and repeat procces!!

I know this chat room is for emerald but Im using a DSi to post this. so I cant find a chat room that works on a DSi. sooo... a couple weeks ago I was playing my brothers yellow version and I was training a medapod for brocks gym and I checked its stats and I pressed B to go back and I didnt go back. after 30 seconds of pressing B, I pressed start and the start menu popped up. I unpaused it and my icon appeared on medapods stats so I was Walking around and I paused it and I was in glitch city. some of the grass was green and the rest was orange and my pikachu wasnt fallowing me anymore. so i walked into a fence and i went thrugh it. i couldnt move so I paused it, went to "pokemon", and exited out. i wasnt in glitch city anymore and i walked out of the fence.
im looking for missingno so Can ANYONE tell me how to do that glitch again? please?
Comment #29.1 by: Mr. bean on 25 Jul 2010, 02:58 GMT
to ge missing no you must get fly and surf. then talk to the old man that was blocking the way during the beginning of the game. then fly to Cinnabar island. surf on the north coast line. DO NOT LEAVE THE 1 TILE COAST!!!! surf and you should find and be able to catch missing no. i got this glitch from a frind. this glitch works for red, blue, and yellow. i have not ttryed this glitch. i have no clue if it actualy works because i just got blue from a garage sale. hope i helped your hhunt! have a nice day +p XD

pikapazuka is right or unless he has the wrong location I haven't played RGB in a LONG time but I totally remember that if you surf around this one area (I think it is by the fossil place) then you will see a glitch Pokemon. I remember being there with my level 100 Blastoise and a Missingno level 161 (or somewhere in the 160s, but I'm almost positive it is 161) and i heard some stuff about he was supposed to turn into Kangashkan or something stupid but I do know catching it can seriously mess your game so I don't recommend it. I searched for it just because I wanted to see it. Don't save or catch it after you find it

the shiny thing about missingno is not true. It's not all that rare.
You needed to go to the events, but they are waayy over :/, could get gameshark, action replay etc. Another option is pokemon colloseum. But you will only get the pokemon (not go to island). And mix records with ruby or saphire, (which used the eon ticket) to get the other lati.

Comment #37.1 by: Photon176 on 04 Jun 2010, 15:40 GMT
Only Solrock, Lunatone and Deoxys,(Witch comes from the word Deoxyreboniculic) are found there. You can only go there with Latios/Latias(Whichever you chose after the elite four you have beaten, go downstairs and choose a color)and you give it a Sitrus berry, and Latios/Latias at I think Level 67 or 77(Sorry for any inconvenience).
Comment #37.2 by: A Girl on 07 Dec 2010, 00:39 GMT
I maxed out my hours 999:59, and it won't record any more hours beyond that. You can still save and stuff, and obviously there are still more hours being put into the game, the game just won't know. It will always say 999:59. In short, getting a certain number of hours won't do anything. I leave my game on at night, that's how I did it btw.

no you can't clone anything at the beggining of the game with a gameshark however you can practically cmake any pokemon you want, show up and you can get like infinite masterballs and tons of $ so you don't even need to clone any crud
how do you do you steal the pokemon from the battle factory that are level 100
Comment #40.1 by: What? on 17 Nov 2011, 22:24 GMT
you have to have a gameshark or AR and pick the pokemon you want and while going through the door press the L button. I'm not sure if it works I havn't tried it yet.
Comment #40.2 by: sgt.Mrz.cory on 05 Jan 2013, 05:21 GMT
2 steal pokemon at battle frontier save then he will take you to the next room put the wear code in before entering the battle room pick 3pokemon and you will end up at the place you wear at.....this reallyyy Worksss
But be careful, because if you get bored and leave the area, or if you encounter one and don't catch him, the spots that they will spawn in aren't the same, because each time you go there, there will be a certain amount of spots they are in, and it will change with each battle.

Comment #49.1 by: A Girl on 07 Dec 2010, 00:46 GMT
You can in mystery dungeon games, it's just hard. every pokemon from that generation is somewhere in the game (except for a few, but they can be easily acquired with absolutely no cheats or trading necessary, use a wondermail generator) That's why I like the mystery dungeon games. Plus the plot is better and you don't have to worry about pokeballs
Comment #49.2 by: A Girl on 17 Dec 2010, 01:10 GMT
P.S. when I said except for a few i was talking about there are only a few Pokemon you can't get all the legendaries are in the game

@Silver W.,
Instead of turning it off and back on, tell her no and do a soft-reset. It works, trust me.

I think I stumbled upon an “easier” way of encountering shiny Pokemon in S/R/E. I use “easier” loosely because maybe it was a stroke of luck but here goes. I entered Petalburg Woods through Petalburg City and for this theory of mine I used the first patch of grass on the left as you enter. I used a Meowth to Cut most of the grass while leaving a single strip. I used my Starmie and put it as first in my party because of its Illuminate ability. I just went up and down on that single strip.
I did this for about an hour and just saved and turned it off, mostly because my thumbs got sore and I got bored. So a couple hours later I picked it up again. No joke, a few encounters later I stumbled upon a shiny Wurmple. Like I said, I don’t know if it was just my luck or maybe my theory of single strip of grass did in fact work but I’m gonna try and do it again in the same place later on and see if I can find shiny Poochyena, Silcoon, Taillow, Shroomish, and Slakoth.
Since those are the only Pokemon you encounter in Petalburg Woods. Please, if anyone else can take the time and do the same anywhere else, I’d really like some feedback or comments. No, I did NOT use any cheats or hacks.

Comment #59 by: PokemonRulz on 27 Jun 2011, 02:02 UTC
To get shiny legendary pokemon u have to save before u battle them, and when u start the battle, soft reset(a+b+start=select). This restarts gameboy(also works if u r playin a GBA game on a DS, but not for DS games). Start the game again and start the battle again(that's why u have to save before; it is faster basically). If the pokemon is not shiny reset again and repeat the resetting process. U will eventually get a shiny legendary, but it may take some time. I got a black Rayquaza, a green Kyogre, and a purple Groudon this way. This also works for starter pokemon. Just save before u get them and reset until it is shiny(these take longer though, but i was lucky enough to get a gold charmander). This is not a cheat or glitch and u don't need a gameshark. All u need is time and luck.

For that Mewtwo in Emerald. U don't have to do all that nonsense. I got twenty Mewtwo's from starting Firered over and over. It is better because i also got plenty of shiny starters(with the soft reset method) along with the fossil pokemon and the legendaries Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. And besides I have a cool strategy that i use when i play any pokemon game in which i can beat the whole game by catching only 4 pokemon(starters and pokemon that people give u don't count because i don't have to catch them). I can beat Firered by gettin any starter, moltres, zapdos, articuno, lapras, and a psyduck. Psyduck is used only for knowing HM's not for battling. Actually i usually get like two more pokemon that i use only for the beginning for HM purposes. But I could beat any trainer in the game with these six pokemon and i don't have to focus on which pokemon to have because i could have all the HM's in my party. See it is simple. I save money on pokeballs and i can buy more full restores n stuff. It helps to have other games like Leafgreen and Emerald that way u can trade the legendaries and starter pokemon before u start again. Otherwise u will just erase them and all of that would have been a waste of time.
aiiight how do i get to all those island without hacking i no how to get 2 navel rock but nothing else and if the only way is by hacking then y did they put those islands there

Comment #63.3 by: PhantomFire on 01 Jan 2013, 23:01 GMT
Sorry to burst your bubble but the only way to get to those islands is game shark, or the events (Discontinued) sorry 'bout that.
i had rayquazza, groundon and kyogre in my emerald game, and migrated all of 'em to plantinum. then i started over just last night without knowing all of the secrets i missed-i got on bulbapedia today and read a bunch of glitches and really interesting stuff and thought, "hey, why dont i try some of this?" so i get my game and when i turned it on i remembered deleting EVERYTHING and felt so stupid -_- '.
I found another glitch: during my pokemon league battles, when I use a move, it doesn't show the move motion, it only shows the part when the pokemon gets damaged. Why would that be? It only started doing that yesterday, and I've had the game for 5 months now. (game: pokemon emerald).
Comment #69.1 by: The Emerald Freak on 17 Dec 2011, 20:53 GMT
if u go in on options there is a thing called Battle Scene yous is probably off so just switch to on and you will see the move motion *facepalm*
Comment #69.2 by: The Emerald Freak on 17 Dec 2011, 20:57 GMT
It's not a glitch it's just that in the options menu there is a thigh called Battle Scene. Your is probably off so just turn it on and it will work again. *facepalm*

wen u turn it on, there should be an option to change that
I have another secret (Make sure that you've defeated the elite four at least once) :
1. Go to the battle frontier. Stock up on PokeBalls, preferably Timer balls or Master Balls (if you cloned them; there is also another one in the game). At least 10-25 balls may be necessary, depending on the type of Poke ball you are using (and obviously, luck).
2. Go to the battle frontier. If this is your first visit, go to the ferry on either Slateport or Lilycove. Other than that, you can just use fly. There's a red mark on LaRousse city. (Do I have to explain?)
3. Go to the Battle Palace at the south-west side of the frontier and surf all the way to the other side in which there is a small "tree" on it.
4. The old lady there will say that the "tree" there is wiggling. Use your wailmer pail on it.
5. There will be a message saying that the "tree" does not like the pail. It will attack you, revealing to be a Pokemon: Sudowoodo.
6. This tree-like pokemon is -ironically- a rock and ground type, so Water is super effective on it. Trust me, you don't want to kill it! There is only one in the entire game. Try using fire-type pokemon, like Blaziken.
7. Catch it!
Done :)

I've not yet completed my Emerald, and this may only be in R/S, but after the E4 and Champ go to Stephen's house and there should be a pokeball with a wweak beldum in it. Try to train it and it'll be a grat addition to your team. Hope I helped! (P.S. Beldum's evolutions are Beldum - Matang - Megacross, and sorry if I din't spell practically anything right. :c)
