Wi-Fi conectivity for Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl

A long time ago, Nintendo experimented with the idea of connecting the GameCube and Game Boy Advance. This resulted in a few enjoyable games, but the overall feeling was that all the required wiring and adapters got in the way of the fun. As it was with all Nintendo titles up to date, when it came to player versus player, hero clash connectivity was limited to a direct cable link? but not any longer.

Pokemon fans have something to look forward to this autumn. Recent pictures from Famitsu are clearly showing a Wi-Fi logo on the box art for the upcoming release Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. It was a known fact that Pokemon was planning to take advantage of Nintendo DS's Wi-Fi potential, but we always assumed they meant local Wi-Fi while saving online battles for a separate later release. It seems they would rather take a leap forward to the true benefits of the wireless local area network. Fans already hint to the unlimited posibilities of online play, and with the fast pace console technology is evolving at the moment; MMO is the word on their lips.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are hitting Japan on September right after the launch of Wii and a few months before a new game planned for Nintendo DS, namely Pokemon Battle Revolution. It is official, the three will interact very much in the same manner as the prior Pokemon releases, linked up through Pokemon Stadium.
