Despite being the first direct sequel in the Pokemon universe of video games, Black and White 2 is set to keep one tradition of the series: introducing all new content to gamers.

Coro Coro Comic, a traditional source of news for Pokemon fans, has revealed that the new game will once again take place in the familiar Isshu region, with the southern districts now the target of players.

The starting town is called Hiougi City and gamers will be able to explore such areas as a Pokemon Center, a trainer school, the home of the player character and a scenic view spot which allows players to spot Pokemon from up high.

It seems that the plot will feature a childhood friend of the protagonist who becomes a rival while a mysterious characters called Akuroma plans to use Pokemon characters for research purposes.

Pokemon Black and White 2 is set to be launched on the older DS handheld from Nintendo on June 23 on the Japanese market.
