Nintendo's Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter applications, designed to import Pokemon from earlier versions of the series and between Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, will be postponed.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company International have decided to delay the launch of the two apps, originally scheduled to deploy on December 27, due to a large volume of traffic to the Nintendo Network service.

The high traffic has resulted in players experiencing trouble setting up their Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and this disruption has coerced the companies into being cautious.

The announcement came from the American branch of Nintendo, more specifically from the Nintendo 3DS support site.

Nintendo America officials have reassured the community that finding a solution for this is their top priority and that they are working to resolve the eShop service situation as fast as possible.
