Gamers will have to pay a yearly subscription to use it

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo announce that the Pokermon Bank series is set to be launched exclusively on the 3DS handheld via the eShop service on December 27 of this year.

A new trailer is also offered to show gamers exactly what they can do with it and how it will enhance their experience with the popular series.

The main features include:

- Deposit, withdraw, and manage up to 3,000 Pokémon in private boxes online through an internet connection - Transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, including the downloadable versions, using one Nintendo 3DS system - Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y using the Poké Transporter, a linked application received when you download Pokémon Bank

The Pokemon Bank service only work in conjunction with the Poke Transporter and all those who get the two between December 27 and January 31,2014 will be able to use them for free for a 30 day period.

A yearly charge of 4.99 dollars or Euro will be applied after that date.

Pokemon X & Y, the most recent 3DS installments in the series, has received a patch that fixes an online bug that allowed for cheating in matches.
