PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure will be launching this week exclusively for the Nintendo Wii in Europe. The title is a Pokémon spinoff released at the end of 2009 in Japan; it will also be available in North America sometime during the holiday season of 2010. It was developed by Creatures Inc. and published, as expected, by Nintendo.

Players fill in the shoes of Pikachu, the iconic character of the franchise, as it is tasked with saving the PokéPark, a strange and mysterious amusement park. The Sky Prism, an artifact protecting the Poképark, was shattered and its pieces were scattered all over the place. Pikachu must engage in the various activities to get all the parts of the Sky Prism back and reassemble it to save the PokéPark.

Throughout the game, players will get to explore the very different areas of the PokéPark and befriend various other Pokémon to help them on their journey. The developers are promising that all the varied Attractions from the park will take full advantage of the Wii Remote and provide a host of interesting challenges that Pokémon fans can really enjoy.

All the attractions that are to be found in the PokéPark involve mini-games such as tests of strength, obstacle courses or footraces. Ryperior's Bumper Burn is a combat challenge that involves pushing the enemy Pokémon of the stage. Bulbasaur's Daring Dash is a footrace that has the players shaking the Wii Remote to accelerate. Salamence's Air Ace tasks them to shoot airborne targets while being themselves during flight. Venusaur's Vine Swing is a platforming event. Gyarados' Aqua Dash is a river checkpoint race with obstacles and power-ups. These are just a few of the activities that can be performed in game, according to Nintendo's press release.

The title was well received by the Japanese press, with prestigious local magazine Famitsu rating it with 34 points out of 40 possible. That was quite a good score, taking into account the history of Famitsu reviews. PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure will be released on the 9th of July in Europe only on the Wii.
