Having already made its debut into the market for ultra-portable netbook systems, NVIDIA partner Point of View is expected to also announce a new series of portable computer systems, featuring Intel's latest CULV processor platform. Suggestively dubbed Mobii ULV slim-line notebook, Point of View's latest computer system will compete with some of the already announced CULV-based laptops, like MSI's X-Slim series and Acer's Timeline series. According to available details, the new laptop will be exclusively based
on Intel's platform and will weigh less than 1.5kg, with battery.

Already announced in Eindhoven, Netherlands, the new machine will be featured with a low-power Intel Celeron 723 1.2GHz processor, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB SATA hard drive and the integrated graphics solution from Intel's GS45 chipset. Additional features include a 13.3-inch LED LCD panel, featuring a maximum of 1280 by 800 pixels, an integrated slim-line DVD-RV 8x optical drive, card reader, fingerprint reader, HDMI, VGA, two USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.

Slated to become available in both red and blue versions, the new laptop will be featured with a 6-cell 4400 mAh battery pack, capable of providing the end-user with up to 4 hours of runtime. The Mobii ULV slim-line notebook will measure 322 x 239 x 25 mm and weigh in at less than 1,5kg, battery included. Unfortunately there's no word on the pricing of the new Mobii portable PC, but the company is expected to reveal more during the Computex 2009 show in Taiwan, set to kick off tomorrow.

With the announcement of the new CULV-based Mobii laptop, Point of View makes its way on a potentially growing market, taking the netbook form factor to a new level. The NVIDIA partner will also have to compete with some of the leading brands in the portable PC market segment, including ASUS and Acer.
