Point of View, one of the many NVIDIA partners, has recently announced the introduction of yet another Mobii mini PC, designed to take advantage of the much-hyped NVIDIA Ion platform. Suggestively dubbed Mobii ION miniPC, the new 10-inch portable computer system comes to compete with some of the other 10-inch netbooks currently available on the market, providing users with support for a full PC experience. Available in
several different color options, the Mobii ION miniPC comes to expand Point of View's line of Ion-based products, which also includes two ION motherboards.

The specifications of the new NVIDIA ION-based netbook are pretty much what you'd expect from such a system, featuring an Atom 230 processor combined with the ION chipset. It sports a 10.2-inch 1024 x 600 LED LCD screen, powered by the DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0-capable NVIDIA graphics. The system also features 1GB of DDR2 memory, which can easily be expanded for increased performance, a 160GB hard disk drive, an SD/MMC card reader, wireless-G networking solution, a 1.3MP webcam, optional Bluetooth 2.0, two USB 2.0 ports and a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port.

Taking full advantage of the performance capabilities of the Ion chipset, the Mobii ION miniPC also comes with a built-in HDMI port, enabling users to view HD video on larger displays. The system's 6-cell battery pack is said to be capable of delivering up to 4 hours of runtime, which is basically about the same as most netbooks on the market, although real-life figures could be a bit different.

Currently there are three color options for the Mobii ION miniPC, namely black, green and red, but the company could roll out a couple more, depending on the user demand. Unfortunately we have no details regarding the pricing and availability of the new ION-based netbook.
