Jailbreaker pod2g has issued a quick fix for the crippled Weather application on devices treated with evasi0n. The instructions are aimed at “power users” according to the French hacker. Pod2g acknowledges on his blog that “People have been complaining about Weather.app not working anymore after applying evasi0n jailbreak.”
Speaking on behalf of the evad3rs – the team responsible for evasi0n – pod2g says, “We figured out that the jailbreak process messes up with com.apple.mobile.installation.plist. A fix is currently in the works and will be pushed to Cydia soon.”
In the meantime, those who know a thing or two about code can try to use a script prepared by pod2g. The lines of code posted on his blog are said to force a rebuild of com.apple.mobile.installation.plist, which ultimately patches the Weather app and renders it functional again.
