News from India says that another rhino living in this part of the world has been shot dead by poachers.

By the looks of it, the hunters did not settle for taking only the animal's horn, and also chopped off its ears. What's more, they cut off a patch of its skin and took it with them. Times of India says that the incident occurred in the country's Kaziranga National Park. Presently, it is still unclear exactly when the killing took place.

Since rangers regularly go on patrol in the region and the animal's body was discovered this Monday, odds are the slaughter happened just days ago.

An investigation is ongoing, and local authorities hope that they will eventually manage to catch the rhino's killers, the same source tells us.

Despite efforts to keep poacher at bay, a total of 38 rhinos inhabiting India's Kaziranga National Park have been killed by poachers since the beginning of this year.
