Plum Ruby. There's a new color in town

Sony Ericsson has added some color to its Cybershot line of mobile phones with the release of a Plum Edition of the K550i handset. The new color suits the phone perfectly and makes it look young and bold, although it comes with no additional specification upgrades of any sort.

The Plum Ruby new color is only an apparent upgrade for the Sony Ericsson K550i handset. The phone has the same ups and downs as before, only that it wraps them all in a more stylish case. The new color will be appreciated especially by those fashionable people or just the ladies looking to own a mobile phone that stands out or matches their purse perfectly.

Sony Ericsson K550i needed a change, although one in specifications would have been considerably more welcomed. The phone packs a 2 megapixel camera that many other handsets in its Cyber-shot family have managed to surpass, leaving the K550i be the more untalented brother of them all.

The handset still shows some potential, especially when considering the fact that its price is much lower than that of the other Sony Ericsson camera phones. Its 64MB of internal memory are increased by a Memory Stick Micro that adds some storage space for more personal captures.

Sony Ericsson K550i comes in some comfortable sizes of 102 x 46 x 14 mm and 85 grams. It also has a WAP 2.0/xHTML browser and supports RSS feeds. The phone enables various communication solutions, including email and instant messaging, among the most evolved ones. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth, USB and data transfers are possible through GPRS and EDGE too.

The new Plum color on Sony Ericsson K550i may be nothing more than a shallow make-up that producers have applied on the phone in order to keep it young and attractive, but the handset does look good. It can be purchased at Carphone Warehouse for the price of 70 pounds right now.
