From August 13 to August 15, a certain trade show will be taking place at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California, called Flash Memory Summit.

There, companies will show their latest NAND Flash chips, manufacturing technologies and products based on them.

Plextor will introduce, or at least demonstrate, a product called M6 there.

Essentially, it is a solid-state drive featuring the M.2 form factor, formerly known as New Generation Form Factor or NGFF.

The SSD will be made out of Toshiba A19 Toggle NAND Flash chips and powered by a Marvell 88SS9187 controller. The thickness of the casing will be 5mm.

Specs are currently being withheld, sadly, but if they are good, the M6 will replace mPCIe, mSATA and other versions of blade SSDs.
