Plex Media Server, a software that makes it easy for everyone to play movies and TV shows on the computer, is now at version 0.9.9.14 and is available for download.

Plex Media Server has been designed from the ground up to work automatically in a home network with a variety of devices, like an LG 2011 Netcast TV, Plex Client for Mac OS X, or numerous mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, or Android ones.

According to the changelog, importing from iTunes is now possible (smart playlist import also works), blur, saturation, and alpha blending on image transcode endpoint support has been added, rich "composite" images are now working, support for skip count and skip date has been implemented, a brand new application icon has been added, and a new preference to limit Cloud Sync upload speed has been introduced.

Also, an issue with continuous play on items with same air date has been fixed, the audio boost has been improved, a bug where an item could end up in a refresh loop has been corrected, and deleting transcode temporary directories is now done a lot faster.

Keep in mind that Plex Media Server has two versions, a free and a premium one. Usually, the premium version updates before the free one but, eventually, all the changes end up in the same branch.
