Plex Media Server 0.9.8.14 Gets Massive Improvements to Transcoder Quality

Plex Media Server, a software that makes it easy for everyone to play movies and TV shows on the computer, is now at version 0.9.8.14.

Plex Media Server 0.9.8.14 has been designed from the ground up to work automatically in a home network with a variety of devices, like an LG 2011 Netcast TV, Plex Client for Mac OS X, or numerous mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Highlights of Plex Media Server 0.9.8.14:

• The ffmpeg used in media analysis has been updated and it should help users in many ways;
• The stream titles and codec ID are now tracked in media analysis;
• The connectivity to myPlex has been improved;
• Massive improvements have been implemented to the Universal Transcoder quality;
• The audio bitrate has been increased at higher qualities.
