Don't be misled by its droid looks. This baby is just a camera for PS3. Playstation Eye may not have the high-definition you've probably been expecting, but Sony has finally dropped the "toy" term and announced the Playstation Eye for PS3. The cam is scheduled for a summer release.

The Eye in the desk has a four-microphone array for multidirectional voice location tracking, two zoom levels, enhanced echo canceling and background noise suppression. This means no stupid headset (at least that's Sony said). The USB 2.0 camera can capture rate as high as 120 fps at 320 x 240 resolution and 60 frames in 640 x480. It also features a digital zoom that can capture either a 56-degree or a 75-degree field of view.

The camera comes with the compulsory editing software, dubbed EyeCreate, which lets you add different effects to your content. You can also compress 1 year (or 10, your pick) of your life using the time-lapse photography feature. But, just in case bad things do happen, please make sure to put your PS3 warranty paper in a safe place. The software also allows you to take photos and even capture video and audio to save on your PS3 hard drive.

Here are some specs:

-Engineered to perform in low light conditions -Faster framer rate for improved tracking, responsiveness and smoothness -Two position zoom lens for close-up and full body options -Free EyeCreate (TM) editing software -Uncompressed video or optional JPEG compression -2.1 F-stop,
