Sony Computer Entertainment has released the official PlayStation iOS app version 1.70.13 with notifications improvements, a new thumbnail view for Twitter and Facebook posts, new support for iPad resolutions, and more.

PlayStation App version 1.70.13 now supports Notification alerts and makes it possible for thumbnails to appear for screenshots and videos shared to Twitter or Facebook as activities. iPad 2 and iPad mini resolutions are now natively supported (for one reason or another, Sony doesn’t mention Retina support), and pictures taken with your iDevice can be set as profile pictures now.

Furthermore, users can send a PSN Friend request to a buddy using email or text, and the app should run more smoothly following the 1.70.13 update. According to Sony Computer Entertainment, “stability during use of some features has been improved.”

PlayStation App is localized in English, Arabic, Bokmål, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish, and requires only iOS 6.0 to run.

In accordance with the minimum firmware requirement, to download PlayStation App all you need is an iPhone 3GS (or newer), iPad 2 (or newer), or iPod touch fifth-generation (or newer). To actually use all of the app’s features you need a Sony Entertainment Network account and a PS4 console.
