The biggest retailer in Japan have once again begun to accept pre-orders for the PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony, which is set to be officially launched on December 17.

Japanese magazine Famitsu says that those who are looking to get a device can check in with such retail chains like Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera and Sofmap.

At the moment the Vita is still listed as unavailable for pre-order on the Japanese Amazon page.

Earlier during October the pre-order process was stopped because the retail chains said that they could not guarantee that all those gamers would get access to a handheld on launch day.

This could be a sign of the huge number of pre-orders for the Vita but it could also signal that the manufacturing process is still not running at full efficiency.

North America and European players will get access to the device during February of 2012 and pre-orders are not yet available.
