Sony has unleashed more information about its PlayStation Vita handheld console, including the full technical specifications or how it's going to receive more than 100 games during its launch window, after already sharing with fans at this week's Tokyo Games Show details about future games.

Sony's PlayStation Vita is getting ready for its release at the end of the year, on December 17, in its native Japan, and is scheduled to arrive in early 2012 on North American and European shores.

In order to drum up hype even more, Sony has confirmed that its handheld will be on the receiving end of a whopping 100 games in its launch window, with 26 scheduled to arrive right on the day of its release.

No word yet on how big this launch window is, but fans should expect many of these titles to appear in the first couple of months after the Vita's release.

More specific battery figures have been detailed by the Japanese company, which now says that the Vita will allow between three and five hours of gameplay, depending on the quality of the title. Up to five hours of video playback can be achieved, while music playback will last for around nine hours, if the device remains in stand-by. To fully charge the Vita, owners need to spend around two hours and 40 minutes.
