The PlayStation Vita is set to receive a new software update in the form of firmware 2.61, which will further increase the stability of certain features of the portable device.

Sony made quite a few big announcements concerning the PS Vita last week during Gamescom 2013, including a price cut down to 199 USD or EUR, depending on the territory.

Now, in order to prevent new customers from encountering system errors, a new firmware update is going to be released soon, according to the PlayStation Twitter account.

System Update 2.61 will improve the system software stability while certain features are used.

Sadly, Sony declined to offer any actual details about the features and the issues that are solved by the new software update, so PS Vita owners will just have to install it without any specific info.
