The development team in charge of the PlayStation Plus service at Sony is ready to reveal the line-up of free video games that will be delivered to subscribers during the month of July, but some confusion persists on the status of the beta testing period for Destiny that was initially also promised.

The initial version of the PS Blog post stated, "Not only are we bringing you a great mix of games but there’s also the Destiny beta, which kicks off on 17th July exclusively on PlayStation."

The reference has since then been eliminated, which means that it's unclear whether gamers will get access to the beta stage of the upcoming title from Bungie and Activision.

On the PlayStation 4, gamers will be able to get access to a platformer called Towerfall Ascension, which mixes rapid movement with fast bow and arrow combat in complex levels, with the players asked to think fast in order to guess the movements of their enemies and slay them.

Sony is also partnering with Capcom in order to add Strider to PlayStation Plus for the month of July, giving players access to an interesting action title that "the story of Hiryu, the youngest ever “Super A” ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age."

On the PlayStation 3, the big addition is the Visceral-developed and Electronic Arts-published Dead Space 3, which allows long-time protagonist Isaac Clarke to work together with newcomer John Carver in order to battle the Necromorph and finally discover their origins and how they can be finally stopped.

Vessel is the other PS3 title that gamers will be able to get, a 2D action puzzle title built around an inventor and the way one of his creations goes haywire.

The Vita handheld is also getting free content in the form of LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes, which allows gamers to battle the likes of Penguin, Riddler, Harley Quinn and the Joker using Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.

The final game for PlayStation Plus is Doki Doki Universe from HumaNature Studios.

Sony is also encouraging all those who subscribe to the premium service to offer feedback and talk about the video games that they would like to see added for free in the coming months.
