Sony has begun sending out beta invitations to the PlayStation Now online service to certain PS3 owners from the U.S., in anticipation of the upcoming closed beta for the cloud streaming system.

PlayStation Now was revealed at the beginning of the year as a special solution that will allow PS4 and PS3 owners to stream PS3 games from the cloud to their consoles.

Sony promised that a PS Now closed beta would launch at the end of the month and invitations have already begun appearing in the mailboxes of certain PS3 owners.

As you can see in the image above, via NeoGAF, the invitations are currently sent to PS3 owners and Sony advises them to connect the console using a wired Ethernet network and make sure that their bandwidth is rated at 5Mbps or higher.
