Sony has announced that PlayStation Home, the social space that is available for free to all those who have an Internet connected PlayStation 3 home console, will be getting a big update, labeled 1.4, on November 11, making it easy for users to connect with others and introducing more control over the way they use items.

In an official PlayStation blog post Locust_Star, who is the community specialist for Home, has confirmed that voice chat will be added to the social space, with each user able to now form Groups, that can include as many as 8 other Avatars in order to talk to them in all the game space, whether they are private or public.

The feature has long been requested by those who use Home and Sony is now addressing complaints that its social space was not allowing gamer to adequately communicate with others.

There are also more options introduced linked to how the items are categorized, with favorites easier to locate and access and more filtering choices for those who have a big wardrobe.

Locust_Star says, “There is also a new “Storage” section that will be added to your wardrobe so you can store away items that you do not regularly use. For those with a lot of items in their wardrobe, placing items into storage will result in your wardrobe loading faster, and will make it easier for you to browse your main wardrobe. This system is very flexible and allows you to quickly restore items to your main wardrobe when you need them.”

Sony says that the 1.4 PlayStation Home update will include a lot of other changes that will be made public when the new features go live.

Sony has been trying to make Home an important destination for PlayStation 3 gamers, allowing them to get access to spaces created around its most important franchises and organizing regular promotional events.
