PlayStation Creator Is Working on Secret Project at Sony

Ken Kutaragi, one of the developers who was involved with the development of all PlayStation gaming platforms until now, has said that he and a number of other members of the “old guard” of the company are working on a secret new project.

He refused to offer any details on what that might be, saying that other members might make an official announcement soon.

Kutaragi did say that the project was “totally cool”.

The engineer served as the president of Sony Computer Entertainment before and has since been both honorary chairman, since 2007, and then senior technology advisor.

Rumors about a PlayStation 4 being in development at Sony have been swirling around for some time and input from Kutaragi would not be a surprise.

Officially, the company has always insisted that it has a 10 year life plan for the PlayStation 3 and will only talk about a replacement after that date.
