Sony showed off its upcoming PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale fighting game last week at the San Diego Comic-Con and took the chance to present two more characters that will appear in the new experience, in the form of Cole MacGrath from the Infamous series and Jak and Daxter from their own franchise.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to deliver a pretty intense fighting experience, combining all sorts of famous video game characters, from God of War’s Kratos to Uncharted’s Nathan Drake or BioShock’s Big Daddy, and making them fight it out across different levels.

We already saw quite a few new characters to be revealed recently, in the form of Tekken’s Heihachi Mishima and Sony mascot Toro Inoue, but now two new fighters have been introduced: Cole MacGrath and Jak from the Jak and Daxter franchise.

First up is Cole, the protagonist from Infamous franchise, who’ll use his array of electricity-based powers to dominate opponents.

“Cole takes advantage of a wide array of abilities in Infamous, an experience we hoped to emulate when incorporating him into the game. He is a well-rounded fighter who is effective at both close and long range, and is highly mobile as well. Players can command both his electrokinesis and cryokinesis, using these powers to assault opponents from a safe distance or propel himself towards the action. With these abilities, Cole proves to be a formidable adversary for the rest of the PlayStation All-Stars cast,” his description reads.

Secondly is Jak from the Jak and Daxter series, who’ll make use of his different powers, as well as of Daxter, his small friend.

“Players familiar with Jak and Daxter’s arsenal will immediately recognize some of the weaponry utilised in PlayStation All-Stars including the Blaster, Needle Lazer, Gyro Burster, and Mass Inverter. When the going gets tough, Jak has the ability to unleash the powers of both Dark and Light Jak to even the playing field, as seen in Jak II and Jak 3 respectively. Daxter even lends a hand in Jak’s melee attacks,” developer SuperBot Entertainment said.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is out for the PS3 and PS Vita this October. Until then, check out two videos of the new characters below.
