The team also asked for better designed shoulder triggers

Developer Guerrilla Games says that, at one point, the prototype for the DualShock 4 controller on the PlayStation 4 had touch sensitive buttons, but the team rejected the idea because it made controlling a shooter too difficult.

Eric Boltjes, the lead designer, says that the hardware team at Sony constantly worked with his studio in order to make sure that the new controller was capable of supporting the new mechanics in Killzone: Shadow Fall.

He tells VG247 that, “We really pushed them to make better triggers that go up. Also stuff like the touch-pad.”

He adds, “Everything else works now, from response time, the dead-zones, everything is better.”

Sony has also reduced lag for the PlayStation 4, which is very important for a shooter like Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Both the PlayStation 4 and the game will be launched on November 15 in the United States and two weeks later in Europe.
