An anonymous source close to Sony says that the company will announce and release a bundle of the PlayStation 4 home console and the Vita handheld before the end of the year, for a price of about 500 dollars or Euro.

Inside Gaming Daily, a Machinima show, says that the deal will not be offered during the first weeks when the PS4 is out and will allow gamers to get both devices for a solid discount.

Since the next-gen console was announced, Sony has been saying that the Vita will offer an excellent second screen experience and can only be used as a controller as long as the developers are ready to put in the development work.

Sony has not made any official comment after the rumors appeared.

The coming Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany would be a perfect venue for the announcement.

The PlayStation 4 is expected to arrive in November.
