Sony might not have yet announced the price or the actual design of the upcoming PlayStation 4 home console, but the leader of one of the biggest special retail chains says that the device will probably sell out on launch.

Tony Bartel, the president of Gamestop, states, quoted by GamesIndustry, that, "We do believe demand will far outpace supply within the launch window, although we have been given no official numbers by Sony."

Apparently, close to one million gamers have signed up with Gamestop to get notifications about the launch of the PlayStation 4 and the device is the most expected piece of hardware of the year.

Sony has not yet made it clear whether the PlayStation 4 will be launched at the same time in all territories or if the company will adopt the Nintendo strategy and opt for a staggered release.
