14 DAY TRIAL // The new PlayStation 4 home console from Sony might include speech recognition on launch, allowing gamers to control a number of core features using short phrases and code words.
The information comes from a LinkedIn profile spotted by IGN for the position of Speech Recognition Engineering Intern.
It asks for, "Some previous knowledge of speech recognition and signal processing" and says that the intern will develop "Speech noise reduction, speech detection, recognition, noisy rejection, and grammar processing under various environments."
Apparently, Sony is interested in making sure that the speech recognition of the PlayStation 4 works in crowded areas and can focus on the voice of just one player.
Sony is expected to offer more information on the various features of the PS4 in time for E3 2013, including a first look at the actual design of the device.
