It seems that Sony is at the moment getting ready to announce an all new hardware bundle that includes both the PlayStation 4 home console and the PlayStation Vita handheld in one package, with the launch date apparently set for July of this year.

The box was revealed via the Amazon France site, captured by AllGamesBeta, and it seems that it will be sold for 579.99 Euro in Europe, which means about 790 dollars in the United States.

The listed launch date is July 4, but it is highly unlikely that the bundle will be delivered on the United States National Day, so that might just be a placeholder at the moment.

The name that Sony has chosen is the Ultimate Player Edition and the retail listing finally confirms rumors that have appeared as soon as the PS4 was launched in 2013.

This means that the savings when compared to buying the two devices separately are negligible, which might mean that the price has not been finalized yet or that Sony is including other content with the new hardware bundle in order to deliver more value to players.

The company might introduce some free games via codes that are included in the PlayStation 4 – Vita bundle or it might run another type of promotion for them.

Presumably, more information about the leaked bundle will be offered on June 9, when Sony will hold its E3 2014 press conference.

It will be interesting to see whether the new hardware package is also accompanied by a modification of the official price of any of the two devices or if it will offer free video games to those who pick up the Ultimate Player Edition.

The PlayStation 4 has been performing very well since it was launched in November of last year and has managed to deliver more than 7 million units to gamers, with titles like InFamous: Second Son and Killzone: Shadow Fall also selling well.

Sony has said that it will deliver more exclusive content to the next-gen device in the coming months in order to keep the platform competitive and make sure that players always have a reason to return to it.

Meanwhile, the rival Xbox One from Microsoft has shipped 5 million units to stores, but the company has recently announced that it is eliminating the Kinect motion tracking system from the retail package and it is also dropping the price to 399 dollars or Euro starting on June 9.
