The PlayStation 4's SHAREfactory feature was very well received by owners of Sony's console, and is regarded as a major success as far as engaging the PS4's community goes.

Apparently, Sony is committed to further improving the app, as it is currently looking for an eligible senior graphics programmer to work on optimizing SHAREfactory.

According to the job listing on the PlayStation website, Sony is looking for someone with experience in C++ and shader development, with a strong understanding of GPU Compute and good optimization skills that can be translated and applied to the PS4's GPU architecture.

In addition to this, the candidate must also have experience working with video codecs and formats, as well as in PC or console games development.

The SHAREfactory video editing app uses the power of the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system in order to render and edit videos, with special effects and sound, in real time, and most likely the new hire will lead to a new firmware update, sometime in the future.

The video suite was launched with the 1.7 firmware update of the PlayStation 4, and the people using it have formulated several requests and desires, such as recording party chat audio or being able to watch other players' vids directly from the application, or to upload clips to a user's PlayStation Network account.
