Other gamers are advised to use Safe Mode

The PlayStation Network outage has been officially solved by the team in charge of the service at Sony but there still are plenty of gamers who are unable to sign in and access their profile, visit the store, or play multiplayer with their friends.

At the moment, the official help Twitter account of the company is asking all those who are having problems to reboot their PlayStation 4 home consoles and then try to log in again in order to solve their issues.

The team is not saying whether the method is guaranteed to help everyone get access to the PlayStation Network at last, but another message is also telling a user to try Safe Mode on the PS4 in order to solve the same issue.

It’s unclear how many gamers are still unable to use all that the PSN service has to offer and whether Sony will remedy their problems in order to allow them to play on New Year’s Eve and during the coming weekend.

The attacks that were launched against both the PSN and the Xbox Live on December 25 managed to cause major problems, but most of them are at the moment solved.

Sony needs to better protect its online infrastructure

Sony has also been recently affected by a major companywide hack prompted by the launch of The Interview movie.

The company needs to update its infrastructure in the coming months in order to try and eliminate or at least minimize the impact of the attacks that plenty of groups seem to be interested in launching.

The main priority needs to be security and the safety of all the personal data of users, but it would be nice to also have a multiplayer infrastructure that’s available during the busiest moments of the year.

If Sony does not manage to solve these issues, the PlayStation 4 might see a slowdown in sales and might relinquish its worldwide lead to the rival Xbox One from Microsoft, which has been less impacted by attacks until now.
