The team at Sony in charge of the PlayStation 4 announces that it is planning to bring back the Spring Fever promotion, which will run for eight full weeks this year, and will deliver a range of video games for the PlayStation 4 with reduced prices for all those who have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

The official announcement explains that gamers will be able to start picking up the special content on Tuesday, March 3, when Helldivers from Arrowhead Game Studios launches, and gamers will be able to get it with a 10 percent discount.

The rest of the titles that are part of the Spring Fever for the PlayStation 4 are: Hotline Miami 2 - Wrong Number, Jamestown+, Metal Slug 3, Axion Verge, Bastion, Titan Souls and Shovel Knight.

The team adds, "This year’s lineup features PlayStation console-exclusive titles, as well as classic franchises making their debut on PS4. And if you haven’t made the jump to PS4 yet, don’t fret – a number of these games are also launching on PS3 and/or PS Vita as well."

Sony is also offering some classic series with reduced prices during the Spring Fever period and gamers who have PlayStation Plus will get access to franchises like Assassin's Creed, God of War, Batman, Dragon Age, Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty.

At the moment, the promotion seems to only be aimed at gamers who are living in the United States.

PlayStation 4 needs promotions and offers in order to keep its lead

For the time being, the modern Sony home console is leading in terms of sales both worldwide and in the United States, and the company has already said that it has no plans to introduce a price cut for it anytime soon.

This means that promotions for content, both video games and movies, are a necessity in order to make sure that the device keeps its lead.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has already introduced a price cut this year for the Xbox One in the US, which looks permanent, and has also announced that it will deliver double the number of free video games for those who have Xbox Live Gold in April.

Sony is also aiming to offer more value to those who subscribe to the PS Plus service.
