The team at Sony in charge of the PlayStation 4 announces that it is investigating a issue which is affecting a number of users and sees them kicked from their online matches of titles like Killzone: Shadow Fall, Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Those who are kicked are then informed that they lack a PlayStation Plus subscription and cannot play online, even if they have paid for the needed service since the new console was launched.

A representative from Sony states via Twitter that, "Anyone on #PS4 getting the message 'You need PS Plus to play online' There is no problem with your subscription. we are investigating ATM."

It's unclear when Sony might have an answer to the issue and whether it can be corrected during the PlayStation Network maintenance phase that has already been announced by the company for today.
