It seems that the development team at Sony working on the PlayStation 4 is currently exploring new ways to add more voice recognition features to the home console in the coming months, in order to make it easier for users to navigate the interface and interact with the various applications.

A job listing coming from the company explains that it is looking for developers who are able to improve the "runtime voice recognition system," while also adding "voice recognition accuracy and out-of-vocabulary rejection rate for noisy speech, kid's speech, and emotional speech."

It's unclear whether Sony is aiming to introduce a special new app that will focus on the feature or if it will introduce some of the new mechanics using the regular firmware updates for the PlayStation 4.

No official announcement about voice recognition has been made so far, but the company needs to find new ways to attract buyers and users.

It is interesting to note that the feature was one of the elements Microsoft focused on when it made the Kinect an integral part of the initial Xbox One package.

Since then, voice recognition has become less important after the motion tracking system was dropped in order to lower the price and improve overall sales.

It will be interesting to see whether Sony will have more success with the feature than Microsoft had at the time.

PlayStation 4 has recently received a Suspend/Resume feature

With firmware update 2.50 for the PlayStation 4, the development team has introduced a new Suspend/Resume feature, which allows gamers to pick up right from where they left off with the console.

The concept is not supported by all apps and video games at the moment, but as its use expands, it will be easier to gain access to content on the device.

Sony says that it wants to continue to add functionality in the long run and gamers can offer both their suggestions and their feedback using the forums.

The company believes that it is easier to maintain interest in the PlayStation 4 app by adding new features and by launching apps rather than resorting to price cuts, like Microsoft has done for the Xbox One.

At the moment, the Sony home console leads in terms of sales, but the situation could change later in 2015 as more big titles are launched for both.
