The team handling the creation of the PlayStation 4 at Sony is currently focused on the video game experience that the console will offer, but it also has long-term plans to show new features linked to other types of content.

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Worldwide Studios, tells Edge that, “we wanted to show how the game experiences will change with PS4, because that’s the biggest focus for us.”

He adds, “We know that people like these functions, such as Netflix, and use them a lot.”

The modern gaming console has become a living room staple, with many users ditching video games in order to use them for movies or simply music.

The PlayStation 4 will be launched before Christmas and Sony says that all its features will be revealed at E3 2013 and other game shows.
