Gamers will make decisions based on launch game lineup

Albert Penello, an executive handling planning for the Microsoft video games division, believes that gamers should not focus on the hardware specifications that Sony released for the PlayStation 4.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine that "The problem is that Sony decided to go out and publish a bunch of numbers, which are in some ways meaningless. Because this isn’t like 1990, when it was 16-bit versus 32-bit."

Apparently, Sony created its entire next-gen device using off-the-shelf components, while Microsoft engineers have chosen to tweak the performance of the entire platform.

The conversation about hardware specifications is not important, because players will focus on video games to differentiate between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Both platforms have already secure exclusives from first and third-party developers.
