Developer Geomerics announces that the upcoming PlayStation 4 home console from Sony is now supported in the next-generation lighting engine, Enlighten.

The technology is used in video games like Dragon Age 3, Battlefield 3, Need for Speed: The Run, EVE Online and Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Chris Doran, the founder of Geomerics, says, “We are delighted to be working on PlayStation 4. The hardware is everything we were hoping for in a next generation console, and a huge step forward from the current generation.”

PlayStation 4 is currently set to support technologies like: Unreal Engine 4, Havok, FaceFX, PhysX, SpeedTree and others.

During the reveal event for its new console, Sony stated that it was working with all major middleware creators in order to make as many development tools as possible available on launch.
