Platform holder Sony announces that it is partnering with fast food chain Taco Bell in order to launch a new promotion for the PlayStation 4 which allows lucky fans to win one bundle which includes the home console and a copy of Destiny every 15 minutes.

The official announcement says that gamers will be able to try out their luck starting October 9 and that the promotional effort will run until November 19.

The company states all those who want a chance to win need to "Stop by your local Taco Bell location and pick up the Big Box, which includes a beef Quesarito, a Doritos Locos Taco, a classic crunchy taco, and a medium fountain drink, to receive a unique code for your chance to text in and win. PS4 branded Big Boxes will be available during the promotion at participating Taco Bell locations while supplies last."

The winners of the special prizes will get a PlayStation 4, a copy of Destiny and the Engram Gear Pack.

They also get access to two vouchers that can be used to redeem a digital copy of the first-person shooter in order to gift to their friends and create the basis of a strong Fireteam with which to explore the world of the title.

The company says that the 15-minute winning time is an average and that all residents of the United States can take advantage of it as long as they are over 18 years of age and they do not live in Hawaii, with more rules offered in the announcement.

The PS4 – Destiny link

Ever since Sony announced that the PlayStation versions of Destiny will get access to exclusive content, the company has made a clear push via marketing to associate the Bungie title with its platforms.

It has even taken down a rather smart guerrilla marketing effort from Microsoft that was simply aiming to show potential buyers that the experience was also offered on the Xbox One.

The new Taco Bell promotional effort is an interesting one because it associates the platform with a popular fast-food brand, while also emphasizing the amount of prizes that will be offered.

Some gamers will be quick to try and win a PlayStation 4 – Destiny bundle, but others might be annoyed that the devices and the games are not offered via a contest that's more clearly aimed at shooter fans.

A new DLC pack for Destiny called The Dark Below will arrive before year's end.
