YouTube uploads and PSN ID are required to compete

The team at Sony is aiming to make the PlayStation 4 home console even more attractive in the run up to Christmas and is launching a major new promotion for the device which is designed to allow gamers to win a variety of prizes as long as they complete certain challenges and upload clips about their exploits to YouTube.

The company has launched a special website showing all the current tasks that are available, all of them linked to the multiplayer modes of the most popular titles launched in the past few months.

Gamers need to log in, play, succeed, and then use the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller before choosing the Upload to YouTube option.

In order to be considered for the PlayStation 4 prizes, gamers need to make sure that they attach their PlayStation Network ID so that they can be easily identified and also use the PS4MPC tag and deliver an accurate description of the challenge they are trying to complete.

All interested players can also vote in the promotion in order to decide which clip is the best, and for each week, the prize set includes: 1 DualShock 4 controller using the camo look, 1 PlayStation TV, 1 set of PS4 headphones, and two 3-month-long subscriptions to the PlayStation Plus service.

For the entire period, the winner will get a big screen Sony TV set and a soundbar.

It seems that the most recent PlayStation 4 promotion will only run for European gamers at the moment, although something similar might be introduced in the United States as well.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are in a tough competition

The PlayStation 4 is currently the leader in terms of sales for the current generation of consoles, but moves made by Microsoft, including some big price cuts for the United States market and generous offers delivered on Black Friday, seem to have narrowed the gap somewhat.

Sony needs to make sure that it keeps the lead, and apparently the company does not have any plans to slash the price of its own device.

This means that solid bundles and promotions like the multiplayer-focused one are the best ways to draw gamers’ attention to the titles offered and the experiences they can access.

Both Sony and Microsoft want to win the sales contest for the crucial weeks before Christmas and will probably offer updated sales totals after the holiday shopping period.
