Although the future of PS3 seems uncertain, Shuhei Yoshida of Sony Worldwide Studios says that the company has faith in the current-gen console and believes it will continue to flourish in the years to come.

Despite being a price difference between the hardware and the games, the console has managed to thrive. The developers believe that consumers are just waiting for the price to come down and that PS3 is in a great demand in Latin America.

They will use the upcoming PS4 to establish a parallel strategy with the PS3, just like they did with PS2 and PS3.

Even if the team from Sony Studios is unsure of PS3 lasting up to five years, they have confidence in the great library of games as well as the publisher side to support them.

When talking about PS4, Shuhei Yoshida tells GamesIndustry.biz, “PS4 is really designed for consumers and focused on how people want to play games. At the same time, we've really made sure that it's hardware which game developers will enjoy making games on.”

Therefore, their goal is to make users see how much fun it is to use such a system for playing games as well as finding out about games. The upcoming PS4 will be released at the price of $400/€400 later next month.
