Among the new applications that are about to hit the recently made available BlackBerry PlayBook from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion, we can count the recently made official Facebook app and email client app, as well as the Android application player for the tablet, which was unveiled in March.

During the Blackberry World conference, the handset vendor presented these applications, and offered demonstration of their capabilities, as can be seen in the three videos embedded at the bottom of this article.

The Facebook application for the BlackBerry PlayBook was already made available for download via the BlackBerry App World, but, those who do not have a device in their hands to give it a try, should have a look at the first video below to learn more on it.

The new mobile application was meant to offer all of the features that users receive from the social networking site straight to their devices, no matter where they are, as long as wireless connectivity is at hand.

But this is not the only application that would facilitate the connection between users, as RIM also plans the release of a native email client for the device in the coming months.

The company already demoed the upcoming software, and you can have a look at some of its features through the second video below.

“In one of the most anticipated demos of BlackBerry World 2011, keynote attendees got a sneak peek of the upcoming Native email and PIM (Personal Information Management) for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet,” a post on Inside BlackBerry reads.

“These PIM applications (including Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, MemoPad and, of course, Email) will come to BlackBerry PlayBook tablets via an update to the BlackBerry Tablet OS later this summer.”

These applications look more than appealing but, in case there are some who would like a bit more from their devices, RIM got them covered, through an Android application player for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.

Available later this summer for all users of the tablet PC, the player will enable them to run Android applications on their devices. Have a look at the third video below, available courtesy of RIM's BlackBerry blog as well, to make an idea of this software's capabilities.
