Skyfire Labs, a company that became notorious soon after Steve Jobs expressed his thoughts on Flash, has launched a new iOS app called Skyfire VideoQ.

“Watch video from across the internet that would not usually work on iOS, and see what are the ‘hot’ videos of the day as judged by the ‘Wisdom of the Crowd’ across millions of Skyfire users,” reads the announcement from Skyfire Labs.

To describe the software in the simplest form possible, Skyfire VideoQ plays every piece of Flash video you may find while browsing the web with Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

Simply tap to send the unplayable video at [email protected], access the app, and there it is!

This works for every user because videos sent from your email address will appear in your Skyfire VideoQ.

Another way to load videos to Skyfire VideoQ is to copy the URL of a webpage that has a Flash video -> open Skyfire VideoQ -> install the bookmarklet into Safari -> use the bookmarket to send the page to your Skyfire VideoQ.

Skyfire VideoQ lets you customize the “channels” or categories you want to follow. A ‘Hot’ list is constantly with trending videos.

Skyfire Labs asks users to note a few aspects about their new app before downloading it.

✔ Flash games and Flash apps are NOT supported. Only Flash video. ✔ QuickTime videos that work in Safari may not always work as App is designed for Flash videos. ✔ Not every site is yet supported. Email us your requests. ✔ Videos may take 10-20 seconds to start, preparing goodness takes time.

Skyfire VideoQ is a ‘universal’ app, meaning it works natively on both iPhone and iPad (and, of course, iPod touch).

It’s compatible with all devices that are capable of running iOS 4.0 or later and costs $1.99.
