Electronic Arts has just unveiled a brand new and quite massive promotion on its Origin service, in the form of Game Time, which allows users to download and play games for free for 48 hours.

Origin has been slowly but surely amassing a loyal fan base thanks to different efforts from Electronic Arts to draw them in and keep them active on the digital distribution service.

After the pretty impressive On The House promotion, which sees great games go free for a certain period of time, now EA has posted another stellar offer, in the form of Origin Game Time, according to the official website.

Moe specifically, a game will be available for download and, once you start it, a 48-hour countdown begins, during which you can play it for free without any restrictions.

Kicking off the promotion is Titanfall, the recent multiplayer-only first-person shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts.

"This weekend you’ll be able to download Titanfall and play for free for two days straight. We’re launching Origin Game Time for Titanfall across the world over the next several hours, so if you don’t see it available yet in your territory, you will soon. Origin Game Time games will appear on our Free Games page when they’re available to download."

The Origin Game Time promotion means that, once you download and start a game, you have 48 hours of real-world time to enjoy it as much as possible. These don't represent in-game time, meaning you won't be able to play Titanfall for 48 hours throughout a longer period of time.

"For Titanfall you’re getting 48 full hours of Pilot/Titan action. It’s the entire game. The Origin Game Time clock begins the moment you start the game for the first time, and ticks down in realtime. Whether you’re fighting your friends or taking a break, the Game Time clock will continue to run."

After the Game Time expires, you'll be able to pick up and continue your progress if you purchase the game. A special discount is also in place, to make things even more attractive for those who have been interested in Titanfall but have yet to commit to a full purchase of the game.

You can expect the Origin Game Time promotion to continue in the future, as EA is keen on bringing in more and more users to its digital distribution service and to keep them active and loyal at the same time.
