Rock Band creators Harmonix and MTV Games have partnered up with Microsoft in order to offer gamers a chance to join into playing the title with the drummer of celebrated grunge rock band Pearl Jam, which is also getting one of its most important albums introduced to the Rock Band Music Store. It's a cool chance to do something different from just rocking with your friends, so be ready for the event.

Microsoft is getting the task of playing host for Matt Cameron, the drummer of Pearl Jam, on Friday, March 27. The Game with Fame session will begin at 6:30 pm Western Standard Time, which translates into 10:30 Greenwich Mean Time.

If you have an Xbox 360, a Rock Band 2 game and wish to jam with Matt Cameron, then you should send a friend request to the Gamertag “Pearl Jam GWF.” It's not clear whether everyone will get a chance to play or whether Microsoft is set to filter possible participants.

As the Pearl Jam debut album Ten is being re-released in music stores all over the world on March 24, the tracks will also be coming to the Music Store for Rock Band, which means that players will be able to download them individually or the entire album in order to play it with friends.

MTV is producing a lot of material related to the album that will air on MTV and VH1 to underscore the importance of the 1991 release. Who can forget tracks like “Alive,” “Black,” “Even Flow” or the heart-breaking “Jeremy”?

Harmonix and MTV Games will also likely partner up to bring the other albums by the prolific Pearl Jam to the Rock Band Music Store, as they too are re-released during this year and the next leading up to the 20-year anniversary of the band.
