14 DAY TRIAL // Spanish security vendor Panda Security has launched a new campaign called "Protect Your Family" which allows users to easily obtain a copy of its Panda Antivirus Pro 2012 product that is free for three months.
The new campaign features an educational game called Malware Invasion in which users have to deal with a virus attack coming from various sources.
The gameplay is pretty simple and only requires mouse clicks. The goal is to catch infected files before they reach a virtual hard disk.
Players can choose to battle with several types of threats including viruses, worms, trojans, phishing and spam. They are guided by a instructor who keeps babbling, rather annoyingly.
Passing the first level of the game is easy enough and only requires catching a few of the infected files. After this users can download a three-month free version of Panda Antivirus Pro 2012 and continue playing.
This is an extended trial version of the product as no actual license code is required. Users don't need to provide their email address either. The trial period has simply been increased from the regular 30 days to 90.
Of course, people will need protection for longer than that, but if you're one of the users who like to try out different antivirus products before deciding which vendor gets their money, then this campaign might be the perfect for you.
