LED implemented games on stylish table surfaces

You think Pong is an outdated prehistoric game? Moritz Waldemeyer, a renowned concept furniture artist, imagined that Pong and Roulette can still provide a good deal of fun. His latest table concepts include one of these two games and let people play them directly on the table surface.

The Pong and Roulette games are implemented via a combination of LEDs and touch pads in order to allow players to move their fingers on the table surface. Players control their Pong bars by moving their fingers towards the moving ball, while the Roulette game features a working wheel which simulates the rolling ball motion (no sound included) specific to this kind of casino game. Think of what would implementing this technology mean to real casinos. What would those well-paid croupiers do? Casinos could invest in implementations that enable the automatic pick-up of all the winnings, so humans might become redundant and the effective personnel can be drastically downsized.

The table concept looks quite stylish in an iPod white color, with futuristic blade-like legs. Regarding the incorporated technology, it certainly is exciting in what it could mean for the future of all computing, not only gaming. In the near future, one could be able to access the Internet from the breakfast table while drinking coffee or serving the daily cereal bowl. Cars, trains and planes could benefit from this technology too, allowing people to watch movies on one of the flip-down included tables. It looks fairly promising, but only time will tell if people would embrace such concepts or not.
